Artist Transforms Recycled Bicycle Seats into Taxidermy Inspired Works of Art:As part of last year’s exhibit titled “Saddle Up!” at Hot Art Wet City gallery in Vancouver, Canadian artist Clem Chen created a series of cruelty free, faux taxidermy creatures using recycled bicycle seats. Aptly named “Bite It” and “Pink Eye”, the sculptures were made by attaching plastic-cast taxidermy molds onto the bicycle seats with construction adhesive and 2-part epoxy glue. Additional sculpting was done using epoxy putty.

After another strong showing, MSU is back ahead of Michigan in the Gorilla Prize standings, as well. With over 312,000 pounds of material recycled through the first three weeks, MSU is second in the Big Ten and seventh overall.
MSU is back ahead of Michigan in the Grand Champion competition. However, a 30.6% recycling rate is well below the goal of a 40% through the eight weeks. The best way to improve recycling rate is by reducing the amount of waste sent to the landfill, but recycling more always helps, too!
